Emissions are calculated with the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard and the UK Government's 2025 greenhouse gas conversion factors, and cover the seven Kyoto gases as CO₂ equivalent. Category 9 is reported as zero because the company sells services, not goods; the plan says so rather than leaving the row blank.
Emissions reduction targets
Brookline Facilities Ltd will cut total emissions to about 120 tCO₂e by 2028, 34% below the 2022 baseline, and keep reducing towards net zero by 2045. Progress is reported each year in this plan.

What the 2027 NHS tier would add
From 1 April 2027, NHS procurements worth £5 million a year or more, and all new NHS frameworks, follow a stricter tier. If Brookline bid for one, its plan would also need to:
- Report all relevant Scope 3 emissions, not only the five categories above. For a cleaning firm, purchased goods (chemicals, consumables, equipment) would likely be the largest addition.
- Set reduction targets that are independently validated by a third party.
- Disclose the share of its net zero target it expects to meet through offsetting.
